Review : Doesn't work reliably brand new out of box
I was excited to get this new Clarion CMD6 marine receiver for my boat, plus the wired remote for bridge, and the wireless remote. I had my installer test everything then cut holes for unit, the USB and wired remote...just to find out afterwards the Clarion receiver didn't work consistently. Sometimes unit would power on and sometimes not. The 12volt power supply is fine. I'm bummed as Clarion used to have a good reputation in my mind...but after paying installer and having return everything I'm not a happy camper. Lastly, the unit only has 4 RCA outputs which (unless this unit is going in your dinghy) is 2 fewer than you need for decent system . The picture fooled me at it looked like it had 6 RCA outputs but 2 are "inputs" for some strange reason. I have ordered a new Kenwood 700 series marine receiver with accessories and hope to not be back here posting ever again.
